２１日に韓国・大邱（テグ）にて、人気タレントで百獣の王である武井壮さんが世界マスターズ陸上に参加しました。
参加種目は60m。Ｍ４０クラスという40歳〜44歳の部門に出場し、5位という結果を残しました。
しかし、すごいですね。本当にこのおじさんはホントに元気。あきらかに僕より元気だと思いますよ。
そして、武井さんは試合終了後にツイッターで「負ーーーけたーーー！！！！！ 世界室内決勝５位でした！！」「クッソ！あいつら脚速え！！！」などと悔しい気持ちは抑えきれなかった模様です。
短距離で勝てないなら、五種競技を進める声もちらほら
もともと武井壮さんは陸上１０種競技の日本チャンピョンということもあり、身体能力抜群です。
そして独自の運動理論を持っていて、様々なスポーツを普通の人よりも早く上達するという特技を持っている一面をがあります。しかも義務教育中は学校の成績は常に一番だったほどの頭脳の持ち主です。
10種競技で日本一を目指したのも、自分の適性を知っていているからこそ、10種競技だったら勝負できるという合理的な判断だったのでしょう。
そんな武井さんはあるテレビ番組で、五種競技でオリンピックに出場するというような発言をしていたことがありました。
そんなことを覚えていたからか、今回のマスターズ陸上5位という結果に悔しそうにしている武井さんを見て、ファンが「五種競技だったら勝てるじゃん？」と目指すべき道を変えることをすすめる声もありました。
しかし、それに対して武井さんは「混成競技は俺の得意分野、現役時代に勝てなかった単独種目で夢見たいのよ…」という発言をし、若い頃に成し遂げられなかったことを達成したいという情熱的な思いを爆発させました。
しかし、僕個人的には武井壮さんに関しては様々なスポーツにチャレンジしてほしいという思いはあります。
だって、今までもボクシングやゴルフ留学、欽ちゃんのゴールデンゴールズでプレイするなど、普通のスポーツ選手にはない貴重なスポーツ経験をたくさんしてきた人です。それをいろんな人に伝えてほしいと思います。
僕が思うに、武井壮さんほどスポーツを愛する人はいないと思います。どうすればスポーツが上達するかを考え、勉強し、自分を実験台にして成長してきた武井さんのノウハウを必要としている人はたくさんいます。
